In a little town of Buenavista Tomatlán, Michoacán, Mr. Serapión Vega Ruiz installed a factory in order to process Mexican lime in 1946, his objective was to extract essential oil from the distilled lime, as well as the fresh peel which was used as food or fodder for livestock. The production of oils was concentrated in Mexico City for its commercialization through UNPAL de SRL (National Union of Lime Oil Producers). Over time, the plant managed to position itself as a leader in the field of oil production, thanks to the quality of its products, services and efficiency.

With the vision and the hope that their children would join their efforts and continue working with the citrus industry; was established in 1990, by five of its children, with the name CITRICOS VEGA HERMANOS DE S.A DE C.V. Subsequently over the years, the company has had important growth transformations in its facilities under the direction of the company by two of his sons, who currently have continued to meet the demands of distilled, cold pressed type A and B key lime oils, including the lime peel; Likewise, it has generated many sources of work in the region, both for company employees and owners of lime plantations.
